Seeking an independent, compassionate Overnight Technician to join our team!

About our Hospital:

Hudson Highlands Veterinary Medical Group enjoys a 50-year legacy of service to our community and the surrounding areas. Our modern, 11,000 square foot main facility houses an onsite CT scan, ultrasound suite, dental suite, endoscopy, underwater treadmill, separate specialty and general practice surgery suites, multiple patient wards including separate cat ward, ICU, doctor offices, radiology suite, spacious treatment room and a large, welcoming reception area. We have a class IV laser unit and a digital thermal imaging unit. Our second facility in nearby Beacon is utilized for outpatient care and boarding. In addition to our team of 5 general practitioners...and skilled support staff, we offer Specialists in Surgery, Internal Medicine, Dermatology and Cardiology. The area also boasts access to Oncology, Neurology, Behavioral and Ophthalmology services for your patients. The Hudson Valley has something to offer everyone…local hiking, wineries, historic sites, rock climbing, wonderful restaurants (think Culinary Institute!), watersports on the Hudson and easy access to New York City amenities to the south as well as the Adirondack mountains and Lake George to the north. Who are we looking for?

Applicants must have a strong work ethic, preserve a positive personality, capable of communicating effectively, be able to multi-task efficiently in a fast paced environment, have the ability to work in harmony with a team, possess a well-rounded technical skill set, and have a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients as well as clients. A valid Veterinary Technician's License in the State of New York is required for this position.

Schedule: This is an overnight shift.

Responsibilities:

Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes
Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
Perform diagnostic imaging
Perform anesthesia
Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
Communicate with and educate clients
Provide compassionate patient care
