   Seeking an independent, compassionate, and Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team!

Northside is a full-service animal hospital that sees both emergency cases as well as pet patients in need of medical, surgical and dental care. Beyond our first-rate patient care, we make our hospital comfortable, kid-friendly and calm so pets can relax in the waiting room and look forward to meeting our veterinarians. We offer a wide variety of services here at Northside. In addition to routine medical, diagnostic, surgical and dental care, we also offer Chinese and Western herbal therapy, acupuncture, Shockwave Therapy, cranio-sacral therapy and cold laser therapy!

Who are we looking for?
Applicants must have an active vet tech license, strong surgical skills, and major plus if proficient with dental cleanings. Strong work ethic, preserve a positive personality, capable of communicating effectively, be able to multi-task efficiently in a fast paced environment, have the ability to work in harmony with a team, possess a well-rounded technical skill set, and have a passion for delivering exceptional care to patients as well as clients.
 
Requirements:
  • Must have an active veterinary technician license
  • Must have open availability
  • Live within 45 minutes of Northside
  • Surgical tech skills
Responsibilities:
  • Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use veterinary software for documenting medical notes
  • Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
  • Obtain laboratory sample collection, process and possibly interpret results (fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, blood smears)
  • Perform diagnostic imaging
  • Perform anesthesia
  • Prep patients for and assist in surgery
  • Perform dental prophies
  • Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
  • Fill prescriptions and review directions with clients
  • Communicate with and educate clients
  • Provide compassionate patient care
